In 1985, Altınbaş began wholesale sales of 14k gold in Istanbul’s Çuhacı Han. In 1994, it opened Turkey’s first large wholesale center in Istanbul’s Şeref Han and established marketing teams. In 1996, Altınbaş became the first company in the jewelry sector to advertise in national media. In 1997, Altınbaş became the first company to establish a franchise system in the Turkish jewelry sector. In 1998, the first Altınbaş Jewelry retail store opened in Sultanahmet. In 2000, Altınbaş expanded its product range to include Altınbaş Diamonds. In 2004, Altınbaş opened Turkey’s first and largest gold factory in Beylikdüzü.
In 2008, Altınbaş was included in the Turquality brand program. That year, Altınbaş won multiple awards, and in the GfK Best Brands research in Turkey, it was named the leader in its category. The same year, it was also recognized as the most recognized brand in both gold and diamond categories in an independent industry survey by Sibermetrik Research. In 2009, Altınbaş became the only Turkish brand to join the international industry organization CIBJO.
In 2011, it won the Export Award in the Valuable Metals and Jewelry category from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM). In 2013, it received first place in the “gold jewelry and jewelry products” category in the Export Stars Award Ceremony by the Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters’ Association (İMMİB). In 2014, it received the “Luxury Jewelry” award at the prestigious Luxury Lifestyle Awards in London.
In 2016, Altınbaş was named the number one brand in the “Accessory” category in the Shopping Centers and Investors Association’s (AYD) “Most Preferred and Most Liked Brands in Shopping Malls” survey. In 2019, it revamped its concept store designs and transitioned to the Premium store concept. In 2020, Altınbaş began e-export to the UK, Germany, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
In 2022, Altınbaş was again selected as the number one brand in the “Accessory” category in AYD’s survey. By 2023, Altınbaş regained its “SUPERBRANDS” status after being ranked as one of the highest-scoring brands by Nielsen IQ.
